Where the mountains meet the sea...The Camden/Lincolnville area is known for its charm and natural beauty. It’s also home to the largest schooner fleet in the world. Here are some ideas to help you make the most of your vacation.

Get out on the water...
Take a 2 or 3 hour sail aboard a schooner - The Heron, Schooner Lazy Jack, or Schooner Surprise; take a ferry ride to nearby Islesboro; rent a kayak and head out to the islands in the Bay or on nearby Lake Megunticook




Commune with Nature...
Camden Hills State Park is just two miles south of Abbington's.  Hike or drive to the top of Mt. Battie for a great view of the Bay, the islands, and three harbors.
Area Lighthouses...
We are fortunate to have seven lighthouses within an hours' drive of us.  Stop in at the office for a detailed list with directions.
Wine and Dine...
Visit a winery - Cellardoor Vineyard - located just a few minutes from Abbington's.  Lily, Lupine, and Fern, downtown, is a great place to get cheese, wines, or chocolates and flowers - they'll also deliver to Abbington's.  For a casual lunch or dinner, we recommend the Camden Deli, Lobster Pound, Bayview Lobster Company, Chez Michel, and Whale's Tooth Pub & Restaurant - all have great views.  For finer dining, may we suggest The Youngtown Inn, Atlantica, or Primo.
Museums, Galleries, etc...
There are many talented artists in the Camden, Rockport, and Lincolnville area - spend an afternoon or two browsing their galleries.  For antique car enthusiasts, Owl's Head Transportation Museum is the place to visit.  Works of the Wyeths and others can be found at the Farnsworth Art Museum
